In April 1996, Canton Township began investigating the need for a performing arts center and was advised to create a nonprofit organization to help spearhead the fundraising initiative. In 1998, our organization was formed and began raising $5 million in private funds for the $13 million dollar construction of The Village Theater at Cherry Hill.

Creating a Place for the
Performing Arts
Over the next 6 years planning we partnered with Canton Township to fund and construct the 400-seat, premiere performing / visual arts and education center and we were thrilled when it opened its doors in the fall of 2004. Through this center we have been able to offer opportunities for all ages to experience the arts and culture as both participants and patrons.
