The Partnership for the Arts & Humanities is a nonprofit organization with a mission to develop a culture of the arts and humanities in Western Wayne and Eastern Washtenaw counties.  Since our conception in December 1998 we have raised millions of dollars to help establish and expand art and humanities programs in our community while striving to preserve the landscape of past generations.

Support the Vision

Village Arts

In August of 2012, we acquired a 14 acre parcel in Canton’s historic Cherry Hill Village District. This picturesque, rural settlement was the site of Henry Ford’s last, most unique and least publicized village industry. The vision is clear- transform this site into a regional arts & culture destination, that will support and encourage arts, education, historic preservation, veteran services, entertainment and recreation for Southeast Michigan.

CUT SHORT:
Veterans Memorial Project

Cut Short is a permanent outdoor memorial garden that consists of twenty-one 6 x 6-inch white posts placed in lines like the white crosses of Arlington National Cemetery. However, posts are cut in various lengths representing those who served a full career and those whose lives were “cut short.”

The Village Theater

at Cherry Hill

Our initial efforts were centered on raising private funds for the construction of The Village Theater at Cherry Hill. We were successful in raising more than $5 million toward the construction and operation of The Village Theater, a 400-seat premiere performing arts center. The center is home to a number of Western Wayne County performing arts organizations, including: an orchestra, band, chorale groups, youth, adult and senior drama theatre.
