The Partnership for the Arts & Humanities is committed to expanding the arts in Western Wayne and eastern Washtenaw counties. In August of 2012, they acquired a 14 acre parcel in Canton’s historic Cherry Hill Village District. This picturesque, rural settlement was the site of Henry Ford’s last, most unique and least publicized village industry. The vision is clear- transform this nationally historic registered site into a regional arts & culture destination, that will support and encourage arts, education, historic preservation, veteran services, entertainment and recreation.
On Sunday, May 31st, the Partnership will host its 2nd Community Volunteer Day from 1pm -5 pm in Cherry Hill Village at 50625 Cherry Hill Road. There are many jobs that need to be accomplished, including interior demolition in the Veteran’s dormitory & Ford factory, as well as exterior landscape & river clean-up. This work will assist the Partnership in preparing to begin renovations and construction this year for the Village Arts Factory. Volunteers are encouraged to bring yard tools and equipment from home, make sure they are clearly labeled with your name.
Please RSVP by May 27th to Jill Engel at: firstname.lastname@example.org. We would like to ensure the proper amount of refreshments for all those planning to attend that day. For more details on the Village Arts Factory –Community Volunteer Day, call 734-765-7061.
